Jack Boyd can send officers out on patrols after receiving calls from citizens. The success of the patrol will depend on the professionalism of the officer(s) in question, the higher their professionalism is, the more likely they will succeed on their patrol. Sometimes, officers that arrive on site will require reinforcements due to a change in situation, Jack Boyd can either grant them reinforcement or order them to retreat. A successful patrol will lead to the apprehension of the suspects and an increase in their professionalism while a failed patrol may lead to a decrease in their professionalism, civilian casualties or even the death of an officer. The time of the patrol will depend on distance of the location to the police station. However, it is possible for false alarms during which the police officers arrive on scene only to discover there is no emergency/crime. Some patrols will require direct orders from Jack Boyd to proceed.
